Question: I am starting another company and am using QuickBooks Premier. Can I start another company in my QB without buying another program even though I am in the Premier subscription program?
Answer: Yes and no.
YES : QuickBooks Desktop users (Pro, Premier, and Enterprise) can create any number of additional companies in the software without additional charge, even when it is being purchased on a subscription basis.
NO: QuickBooks Online (QBO) does not permit this. In QBO, each company file you have requires its own subscription and monthly fee.
Ultimately, Intuit would like to move its Desktop users into QBO. When that happens, you will be paying an additional subscription fee for each company file you move over from QB Desktop to QBO.
